Best Quality Everything!
Encounter Mara is hands down the best way to experience the Maasai Mara. Their facilities are top notch when it comes to comfort and luxury. You're staying in a tent in the middle of the African bush, but it feels like you're staying in a 5 star hotel! On safari, you get to go off roads, get up CLOSE to the animals and you really feel like you're in their natural habitat. It's really quite an incredible experience.
You won't get a better way to experience the Mara! Enjoy your stay!"

I went in with high expectations, but got even more
We had the BEST time in our too- short stay here! Each of the four of us adults, and each of the kids age 5-15, felt the same way - we loved it! We saw more animals and at such a close distance I still can't quite believe it. Our photos and memories will last a lifetime, thank you Encounter Mara!"

Best Value in the Mara
We recently stayed at Encounter Mara for the second time. While we enjoyed our first visit, this little camp has really come along in the past 16 months. The game drives are terrific everywhere in the Mara and we enjoyed them in the conservancy as well as in the National Reserve nearby. We have stayed at several other lodges and camps in the Mara that are opulent but will return to Encounter Mara again next time we get to Kenya."

Come to Kenya: Just to Come Here!
We were a group of 4 adults and 3 kids (including one 5-year-old) and we could not have had a more positive experience than Encounter Mara. We live in Nairobi and have done several trips -- but it's different at Encounter. The animals look healthy (chubby lion cubs!), the camp looks as if it could be rolled up and put away within days without leaving a trace. We enjoyed every part of our safari with Encounter."

The Trip of a Lifetime
I had the good fortune to visit the Encounter Mara Naboisho Conservancy December 2014. Everything from start to finish was perfect. In the first minutes of the first game drive, we parked a few feet away from a gorgeous cheetah and the animals, birds and views got better and better as the days progressed.
My tent was large and comfortable. I was traveling alone, yet never felt alone for a moment. I was included as part of the family of the Encounter Mara."

A Tropical Paradise In Tanzania
This was my favorite resort in our trip to Tanzania. We stayed in some rougher spots and more luxurious but Rubondo Island Camp was a perfect blend of luxury and a traditional bush camp. The service was amazing! The hikes in the jungle gave me a new appreciation for Tanzania that was unknown to me before, that of the little creatures. So many butterflies, little critters that are amazing to interact with. The food was AMAZING, the chef is intense but in a comical way and really added to charm of this little paradise. My wife and I wish we would have scheduled more time at Rubondo Island Camp. We will definitely return for a longer trip...definitely!

Little Oliver's was our first stop on an 8 day safari. We were a group of 4 couples and stayed 2 nights. We wished it were longer and hugged our amazingly knowledgeable guides Alex and Rich goodbye when they brought us to the air strip to travel on to Ngorongoro. The game drives were nothing short of breathtaking, starting with the trip from the air strip to the camp where we spotted cheetah, and host of other wildlife appearing as if on cue. The cool towels and cold fresh juices on arrival were a preview to the degree of amenities that we enjoyed. The common areas delighted as did cocktails in front of the bonfire and delicious "bites". The "tents" were beautiful blend of luxury and African decor and combined with the stars and wildlife sounds after sunset made for an unforgettable experience. They are spaced so that you do not hear or see your neighbors and reinforces that you are living amidst wildlife that moves freely throughout the camp. After a tremendously successful drive along the river, we opted to do a night game drive which did not disappoint. Having a great safari experience depends on your guides and ours were outstanding!"

A Dream Come True
Our guide, Shatri, made our game drives magical. His knowledge of the animals was extraordinary and he was most courteous and thoughtful. Meal times were had sometimes out and about, he would set up a picnic table with an array of drinks and snacks which were great± All the staff were happy to help at all times and we could not have asked for a lovelier few days. We were sad to leave!"

Just returned from a first visit to Kenya, had never been on safari and was blown away, first by the wildlife - location is fantastic; we only stayed two nights but were lucky to see the Big 5 - but just as memorably by Rekero. Without exception, the staff offer an ideal blend of attentiveness and relaxed vibes. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable, especially our assigned Masai guide. The food was gourmet-like, and our tent and the common facilities were elegant yet not too much. Breakfast overlooking the river or packed if you do an early morning game drive, 1pm lunch, 4:30pm tea, 8pm dinner and ample time for game drives, chatting with fellow guests and resting in between. Rekero has it figured out. The staff clearly take pride in what they do, with many having worked there for years. I could go on and on... Simply put, if you go on safari in Kenya, book Rekero!"

THE Destination in the Mara
This camp is absolute perfection. They are able to provide an atmosphere of comfort like your own home while also providing luxuries you would never think of on safari or frankly on any vacation- and we have stayed in some very exclusive places! The tents are beautiful and have all the luxuries- nice linens, soap- wonderful beds with the addition of being able to watch zebra (and plenty of other animals) walking by your room all night.
The game driving is exceptional- the animals that are there are in tremendous in quantity and watching them interact was amazing!! We got to see a lioness and her 2 week old cubs on their first ever outing! It is not at all surprising that the Mara is known as the original safari destination- it is beyond description. The food at Naboisho also bears discussion- not only were we awed at every meal- but the communal dining made us feel like we were at an intimate dinner party with close fiends every night!
I have left the discussion of the staff for last- mostly because I do not know how to convey in words the level of not just service but true care they shower on each family! Helen, Roelof, Moses and our tracker Daniel to name a few! When we pulled away it was with tears in our eyes- knowing that this will be back as soon as possible! Run do not walk to book a trip to Naboisho!
