A wonderful resort and location to relax and recharge. Lovely accommodations, great food and top notch management make this a wonderful get away. From the managers to the staff, everyone was warm and attentive. Activities include expert guided snorkeling and reef walks! Highly recommend and hope to visit again!"

This camp was excellent, I had a wonderful experience. All of the staff were nice and friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. My tent was amazing and very spacious with all the luxuries of a normal hotel (normal sink, shower and toilet and electricity). The guide I had, Festo, was great and made many good spots of animals. The food was great and varied as well. For being in the middle of the bush, this site had it all. Also, on the actual safari we were often the only vehicle in sight so it felt very private with just our vehicle and the animals. I would absolutely recommend this camp and would go there again if I did another safari. "

This was hands-down the most relaxed I have ever been in my entire life. Every need was taken care of by our amazing butler Mohammed. He went the extra mile every single day. Every time we got back to our villa after a snorkel he even had a nice warm bath and cold coconuts waiting for us.
The food was so good I could not stop eating. I gained 4 kg's in a week hahaha!!
The rest of the staff are super friendly and everyone always knows what activity we did that day and will ask us how it was. I have never received so many friendly hello's in such a short space of time. It was truly special.
We also could not get enough of the snorkelling excursions as our guide, Kidawa, has the most incredible knowledge of the ocean and the local sea life. He managed to track down some dolphins not once, but 3 times... what a magical experience swimming with a pod of 20 to 30 dolphins in the ocean.
The villa was also extremely comfortable and very beautifully decorated. The view from our private pool was to die for!!
This place is absolute bliss!!

Best Camp in the Mara Hands Down!
This was my second trip to Kenya and I can honestly say that the Encounter went way beyond my expectations. The staff was so flexible and accommodating! They thought of every detail. From the moment they picked us up at the airfield till our return.
The food was better than most 5 star restaurants I have dined at. Every meal being served perfectly in flavor, temperature and presentation. The drivers were so knowledgeable on the region and the animals , where to find them, and how to get up close and personal. Tents were great, hot water, flushing toilets a huge outdoor couch to relax on the porch.
Our backyard at the camp was a vision of Zebras ,Baboons and giraffes passing our camp. Encounter does not have electric fences like many of the camps and for that reason we were able to view the animals from our porch!
Thank you to Andrew, Moses, Cenchura (our driver) and the rest of the amazing staff for a holiday of a lifetime."

Better than any hotel I have been in!
We were greeted by Daniel our Safari guide when we landed at the dirt airstrip. On the way to the property we saw many animals despite the downpour of rain when we arrived. On arrival we were met by the camp host Roelof and Helen who run an amazing camp with great customer care! They are fun and easy to talk to and at least one will always be at mealtime ready and willing to make new friends and answer any questions or address any problems you may have.
We saw and heard wildlife outside of our tent every night which was amazing. Why else stay in a tent in the bush?? We saw giraffe, zebra, impala, topi, and that was all from the deck on our tent. At night we heard buffalo, hyenas, and lions around our tent! But don't worry the camp has Askari's (Masi guides) that roam the grounds at night. After dark you are not allowed/advised to leave your tent without a guide to protect you.
Daniel was a great guide and it was fun to get to know him. He was great at spotting animals and we saw everything we wanted to see. He gave a lot of information about the animals and would answer questions about them or the plants. I never heard an I don't know, nor did I feel he was making anything up.
If you have the chance you must go on a walking safari with Roelof! Seeing the animals and plants from a walking level is an experience not to miss. He also is very knowledgeable and gave you great details about everything you see, from termites to elephants, trees to flowers. While you are walking safety is his top priority!

Hunting, but with a camera!
This was a wonderful experience. The variety of game was incredible, the knowledge of the guides, excellent. We saw leopard, cheetah, lion, elephant, hippo, giraffe, zebra, lots of wilderbeast, antelope, vultures mmm, and more. There was the excitement of hunting, but the killing was done by the animals.
The accommodation and catering, in the wilds, were first class, with highly attentive staff. Of the nine tents (rooms) in total, we were room nine and the family were room three. Both were lovely. We also did a walking safari one morning and found it fascinating and we felt very safe.
We cannot recommend this safari highly enough. Thank you to everyone, who helped make this so memorable.

Honeymoon in Paradise
Our lovely honeymoon has just come to and end and I honestly could not have asked for anything more spectacular.
Our room was full of the luxuries of a first world country but was able to keep its rustic charm. The people were absolutely amazing serving our every need and desire (even the garden staff knew our timetable and asked us how the snorkelling was etc).
We were also fortunate enough to have our very own butler Mohammed Khamis. He is absolutely delightful always full of smiles and doing everything possible to turn our trip into our dream honeymoon. Our highlight was definitely our daily snorkelling trips where we swam with dolphins almost in a daily basis thanks to the excellent guide Kidawa. The food is also fantastic and I don't think a minute went byewhere we were not stuffed to the point of exploding.
Thank you to everyone involved and we will cherish these memories forever."

Great place to relax on the Indian Ocean
This small resort is an oasis on the shore of Zanzibar. Each bungalow is well appointed and ideally set up for couples looking to relax by the sea. The hammock on the porch overlooking the surf is amazing. The food is quite enjoyable and the staff did an excellent job of providing activities like snorkelling and reef walks. The individualised attention was much appreciated as well. The two pools were beautiful. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in this part of the world."

Amazing camp and fantastic safari!
I spent three days/three nights at Naboisho Camp over the weekend. It was an excellent experience from start to finish - I could not have asked for more.
Having stayed with other safari companies in the past, the smaller camp size and personalised approach of Naboisho Camp and Asilia Africa was made clear from arrival. The staff greeted guests by name throughout the stay and were more than happy to meet any demand. In particular, Roelof and Helen, the camp managers were friendly and personable, and an absolute pleasure to chat with over dinner or around the fireplace.
The camp was great and included all the luxuries expected. Although each room was indeed a permanent tent, the inside decor felt more like a luxurious suite, although it still retained that feeling of 'sleeping out under the stars'. The food was good, providing generally healthy options that were made versatile depending on whether we were dining in or out in the bush.
Best of all was the quality of the safaris. We spent two days locally in Naboisho Conservancy including a local village visit, a truly interesting and culturally significant activity. We also spent one full day in the Maasai Mara Reserve which, with its sweeping grass plains, provided an excellent complementary experience to the bushier conservancy.
In particular, Roelof and Moses provided some incredible encounters with wildlife (including lion warfare and hunts), but were most impressive when posed our many questions. Their knowledge of the wildlife, botany and ecosystems was thorough, and not a single question went unanswered.
