Fabulous camp in the Serengeti
Add us to the list of people raving about David and his staff at Ubuntu Camp. We stayed three nights here and cannot say enough good things about the camp. We stayed at other camps on the trip, but this is the only one we are going to the trouble to review.
What sets this place apart is David and the staff and the friendliness of everybody there. The food at this camp was also the best of our trip. The wildebeests fooled us and weren't in the area like we thought they would be, but the thoughtful people at this camp made up for any disappointment in that department (and there were plenty of other animals to be seen!)."

For a mobile camp Ubuntu is amazingly well set up, it has much more than you would expect from the ensuites with flushing loo to the king sized beds which were super comfortable with crisp clean sheets, and really good food for being so remote from their supplies.
The guides work very hard at finding you game to view and are very patient. They are limited by the small number of access roads in Grumeti to getting close and we had wonderful viewing of a wild dog kill showing the teamwork of these dogs (miracle to see in the Serengeti) plus a breeding herd of elephant cross the road in front of us, plus lions in trees and high up on rocks- just like Lion King- plus the start of migration herds which are very late in reaching the area this year. Thanks to David and the staff for a wonderful time.

Warm, welcoming and just fabulous!
We spent three nights with our two children at this truly wonderful camp. David and his staff were amazing and so professional, and the service they delivered in the middle of nowhere is astonishing! The tents were so comfortable and the setting idyllic. Most importantly, we cannot praise the staff enough, they were friendly and fun and our kids, in particular, adored them. We would have loved to stay longer."

An amazing experience!
The staff, facilities and overall experience at this camp was phenomenal. By their nature excursions like a safari have to be all-inclusive. This puts a lot of pressure on the staff to deliver. Sayari Camp did an outstanding job of delivering what will likely be a once in a lifetime experience. Our cabin/tent was comfortable and provided a good amount or privacy. I really appreciated that the food served was very healthy as well. From the manager to the game drivers, everything was great."

The tone of our stay at Rubondo Island was set from the moment our tiny plane taxied to a halt on the grass airstrip and we were greeted by two smiling guides equipped with a bottle of sparkling wine & a carton of mango juice to welcome us to the island. Wildlife was evident all around us as we took the short bumpy drive to the resort which is set in a tranquil green clearing on the shore of Lake Victoria. The camp was an absolute delight. Not only was it very attractive & comfortable but the staff were wonderful and went to enormous trouble to look after us and made us feel very special in the process.
If you're hoping for an African big game safari Rubondo might disappoint, but if you want peace & quiet in pretty surroundings amongst a group of staff who really seem to care about your comfort & pleasure then Rubondo Island Camp is definitely worth considering. We loved it."

Great Camp with Beautiful River Location
The camp is beautifully situated along the mara river with tents spread spaciously around leafy trees and along the river. It is an unfenced property so animals wandered freely through the camp day and night. Whilst there, we had 2 near misses of lion kills just up from the dining tent in one day.
Our guide was excellent. He had a lot of experience guiding and he spotted things from miles away. He worked tirelessly trying to find elusive leopard for us and we were rewarded with some spectacular sightings. The vehicle was spotlessly clean the whole time.
We will definately return to Rekero. Thanks Mariana and boys for ensuring we had such a wonderful time!

This is the first place I have ever been to where the website advertisements and pictures are exactly a representation of what you get and more! The staff's friendliness, service and attention to detail were really incredible.
We had amazing sightings (cheetahs and lion on every game drive, leopard with a kill in a tree etc) Thank you Asilia Africa for making our honeymoon unforgettably special!

I can't say enough good things about this camp and the staff there. My family and I stayed here for 3 nights and we wished we could have stayed longer. The sunset? Beyond your wildest imagination. Game viewing? Every cat you have dreamed of seeing is nearby. Truly lovely. All of the staff was incredibly helpful. Coffee at sunrise was unbeatable. Truly one of my favorite camps in the Serengeti. Thanks guys for all your hard work."

Wonderful hospitality and wildlife viewing
We stayed at Rekero Camp for four nights earlier this month and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff, from the manager, Marianna, to the night watchman who escorted us to and from our tents after dark, were good-humored, exceedingly helpful and constantly asking if they could do anything else for us.
Our resident guide, Pius, was an absolutely joy to go on safari with each day. His knowledge, enthusiasm and determination to maximize the wildlife viewing for us was just incredible.
The tents had everything we needed and more and the grounds and dining/lounging area were well-maintained, relaxing and enjoyable. I wasn't sure about the bucket showers, but there was ample hot water and never an issue with showering when we wanted to. I have nothing negative to say about the whole experience and would highly recommend a stay here if heading to the Maasai Mara."

A great way to really enjoy the Serengeti! Highly recommended. The staff is wonderful, the camp is nice and the evening camp bonfire (or bush TV as they call it) is a nice way to meet the other guests!"
