Really enjoyable experience

It really is a lovely experience. The staff is beyond friendly and the food is delicious. The tents are huge, you could pretty much host a small wedding reception in them. The bed doesn't feel cosy from sitting on it but I think it was the best sleep I've had all year. I even had a coffee one night to stay up in hope of hearing the heavy breathing of the lions roaming around the camp site, and still immediately fell asleep and didn't wake up until the morning breakfast call of fresh Tanzanian coffee brought to the tent.
We wish you wonderful travels. If you are planning your trip to include Dunia, please know there are two very jealous strangers out there wishing we could be doing the same.If you are planning your trip to include Dunia, please know there are two very jealous strangers out there wishing we could be doing the same."

Awesome Child Friendly Safari

We stayed at Mara Bush House for 3 nights with our 3 year old girl and our friends with 2 small children. We were a bit anxious to take our daughter to East Africa on a safari but we had the most amazing time. The house was stunning with a waterhole in front of the house and a nice big pool. The Maasai staff were just so friendly and professional and the food was all very delicious. The staff played with the kids all the time and even taught them how to use bow and arrow. Our guide Fred was just the best. He taught the children so many things while driving around and seeing all the animals. And distracted them when they got tired or over enthusiastic when they had to sit calm. It was just perfect! A great family experience!"

Naboisho Camp: a child friendly camp

Sophie V (South Africa) We stayed at Naboisho camp for 3 nights and took our 3 year old girl.
We were a bit anxious to take our little girl to East Africa but we are very glad we did. It was such a fantastic family experience. The camp managers also have 2 little girls so it was such a child friendly holiday.

We had the most stunning sundowners on the plains under an acacia tree. Kids running around and parents drinking gin tonics. The camp staff organized activities for the children to keep them busy and there were babysitters available at night.

During the day we took them on 1 or 2 drives and this went also very well because the guides were so professional. We can really recommend this Asilia Africa camp."

Roomy & Private Accomodations

Stayed here 3 nights after a night in Stone Town. Spent two days SCUBA diving. Although there is no dive shop at the resort, they met us timely for orientation and pick-up. Grounds were spectacular - clean, gorgeous flora & fauna, peaceful. The hut was huge!! Bathroom was bigger than some rooms I've stayed at in Europe. I took the bed in the loft and felt like a little kid up there. I was scared to death one night when a bush baby jumped on the roof and sounded like he was in the house (he wasn't so all was good). Loved the privacy, the view, and the options of outdoor lounging.
Definitely a great place for couples to come for a private & romantic getaway."

Beautiful and relaxing!

The rooms are beautiful and relaxing. The private roof deck is a great spot to lounge, and the private pool is a must given the heat! Our butler, George, was excellent! We had never had a butler before, so found it a little awkward, but that was no fault of George's. The food was excellent and we were stuffed the entire time. The scuba center, ScubaFish is top notch. A great relaxing holiday!

Incredible Sights, Fabulous Staff- Amazing!

The animals were abundant. The scenery amazing. We loved the tents. Bucket showers were super. Escorts with spears at night was great! Elegant tent camping! Tent was very well made- felt secure, private and netting on windows kept all bugs out. Elephants and baboons munching around your tent night and day! Guides were fabulous. We requested guide to take us to a Masai village- highly recommend to learn about their culture. Lovely setting in the bush on an active river. We spent three nights- I would have loved to stay longer, but no time. Staff were very kind. We hope to go back!"

Unbelievable Location and Camp

This was a true experience worth writing about. The food was spectacular, the rooms were luxurious, and the staff were all very friendly. The proximity to amazing wildlife was great and the "sundowner" with the Hippo's was amazing. Our guide Emmanuel was very knowledgeable and created a great few days for us out with the animals. Its a must do if you are visiting the Serengeti!"

What a Special Place!

My husband and I stayed in Oliver's camp for just 1 night of our safari honeymoon around Tanzania. In hindsight we wish we had stayed for longer as it was the highlight of all the accommodations we visited - and we had done our homework using trip advisor to select each one. The hosts Jackie and Justin were very welcoming and made us feel at home instantly. The camp is located in a very quiet spot inside Tarangire park, and on our visit at the very start of March we saw an enormous amount of elephants and giraffes, and even a pack of lions very close to camp.

To describe this place as a camp almost feels like cheating as this is 'glamping' at its finest. The camp is relatively permanent, so the novelty of staying in a 'camp' surrounded by the sounds of the bush can be enjoyed without comprising on creature comforts. For example our 'tent' had a concrete floor, fully flushing toilet and wonderful hot outside shower.

The evening meal was really good, and our lunchbox the next day was my favourite of the trip - I am a semi-vegetarian, so I did struggle with bland food at a lot of other places. This was an exception. We wouldn't hesitate to return."

Camping Made Comfortable!

During our honeymoon trip in the beginning of March this proved to be the best location we stayed in for seeing the big cats. After 2 nights here we headed into the central Serengeti which seemed a common theme amongst the other guests too.The camp itself was relatively small (with around 9 guests tents) and is non-permanent so moves location around the park depending on the time of year.
We enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommend all the Asilia properties we stayed at. This is a lot more of a rustic 'tent' experience than staying in a lodge, but going to sleep listening to the sounds of the wildlife is pretty special - we also spotted zebra, giraffe and wildebeest from the camp which made it an experience.
This is an Eco camp, so water is precious and the bucket shower system works by requesting a hot shower in advance, so the staff go and fill up the buckets with hot water. The staff however were always happy to help, and the wake up calls with hot drinks and cookies were wonderful, and we loved the hot water bottles they put in the bed at night!"

Safari with a twist!

The team at Rubondo Island Camp epitomised for us our experience of 2 other Asilia camps on the same trip, Charming, attentive and providing hospitality to a high standard.
Rubondo is however different to other safari lodges as you have the opportunity to walk through the forests and beaches to get up close to the local wildlife. The hippos snort and the elephants grumble at you - but keep their distance, leaving you to explore the small creatures and the amazing variety of birds.
No doubt that our highlight was fishing for Nile Perch with Henk as our guide and keeping just one of the catch - for dinner!"
