Our stay at Kwihala was a magical one.

We stayed 8 nights in February 2014. Our stay at Kwihala was a magical one that was made special by both the staff and the guides who took such great care of us. We were woken up each morning with tea and coffee on a table outside, then took a walk to our open top Land Cruisers to start our morning safari, we were served a light breakfast on the bonnet after returning to our safari. These morning safaris were truly amazing and I cant stress enough the importance of booking at least one for your stay at Kwihala! "

Fantastic Vacation!

We recently stayed at the Matemwe Lodge after an African Safari in Tanzania. I can not say enough about what a wonderful time we had there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. We had a plunge pool next to our room, and alternated between the hammock, chaise lounges, and the pool. After that we had scrumptious meals, expertly prepared by their chefs, with fresh fish and vegetables every night. The grounds are beautiful as well. We went snorkeling at the Mnemba Atoll, which I recommend highly. Also had a massage-can't get any better than this!"

A Must Visit!

One of the best places I have stayed on many different levels. Service faultless from management down (and I am pretty critical in this area). Furthermore, everyone is a character - the askaris are great fun, the guide (ours was Daniel) was the best I have come across out of the three safaris I have been on. We were the first to the game most times.
Food fantastic - tasty and delicious. I think all the food was based on local specialities or derivatives thereof.
Tents extremely comfortable and you have everything you want. It is a great experience - you are almost certainly going to eye ball a hippo or elephant from a few paces if you do.
Game drives spot on - we saw everything, breakfasts in the bush every day, sundowners in secluded spots and a guide who truly knows every animal, bird and sound however far away.
Finally Location - I can't see how you are going to find better in the Mara. Next to a river, secluded but with game all around you - just perfect.

To sum up, if you want a true safari experience where you are in the thick of the action during the day and the night and you value exceptional service, great food and wine, then look no further."

Moonlight Serenade

My husband and I had booked this trip to Tanzania as a 'special' birthday present for me - I could not have asked for anything better. We stayed at Olivers Camp at the beginning of February 2014 and what a delight it was. Jacky and Justin are the most welcoming of hosts who make you feel at home. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have whilst escorting you to and from your tent. The food was first class and the whole ambience was to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The tents were excellent - extremely airy, clean and the views outstanding: the outside shower was an added attraction of being at one (if in a somewhat luxurious setting) with nature. Being serenaded by lions during the night is something you only ever dream of. We will definitely be back."

Never Wanted to Leave!

We arrived at Oliver's Camp in the late afternoon. What a gorgeous vision it is. We were greeting by Justin & Jackie with smiles, towels to wash up and some fresh juice. Our tent was a dream come true. It was luxurious but not overwhelming to the point of feeling out of place. The outdoor shower is so beautiful with the sound and views of the bush right there in front of you.
Drinks and snacks around the fire kicked off this living dream -- the stars above incredible. Staff members knew our names before we could even begin the evening! Our dinner was beyond good -- sitting at a table for 14 we felt like a family from the start. We were treated to a most lovely meeting with Louis, the guide whose smile lit up the night. He played and sang on his thumb piano with some of the staff backing him up. Our rendition of "the Lion Sleeps tonight" will forever be in my heart.
The staff also joined us in a festive dancing and singing around the table that warmed the heart.

We had delicious made to order breakfast and then our picnic lunches. None of us wanted to leave but we were only booked one night at this delightful camp. To all travelers -- make this at least a 2 night stay -- another night if you are able. We had to leave too early and the rest of our trip echoed with "wish we had more time at Oliver's Camp.""

Great way to end our Safari Vacation

We spent 4 nights here following a 7 day safari and had a wonderful time. Our bungalow was #3 and had an upstairs loft with another bed and as all of them do, it faced the ocean. It was really wonderful to watch the local fishermen go out each day on their dhows, and see the octupus and squid fishermen at night along the reef. I was really amazed that the resort is really built right atop the coral! An unusal note - one night we heard sounds right outside our room and it turned out to be a herd of 10-12 cows strolling alogh the narrow path between our verandah and the cliff!

The food here was amazing, lots of fresh fish and local flavors. they also do theme nights and barbeques. My husband told them it was my birthday and they brought me a cake big enough for all the guests on our first night, and arranged for a private poolside dinner on our last night, very nice!
The staff are very attentive and accomodating, they  took the time to get to know us and Management Russ and Maggie were very open friendly and helpful to us, always wanting to hear about our stay and offer advice.

The Perfect End to a Safari!

We spent 7 nights here after a 10 day safari across tanzania. Fantastic staff, really good and everpresent management, great views and a wonderful sense of relaxation. The hotel runs trips out to the small island opposite the beach for terrific snorkeling. The beach is very long and pretty clean and makes for great walks, we walked for hours!! The rooms are spacious and clean with all facilities and the restaurant excellent with wonderful staff. We would strongly recommend this hotel! The staff will make your stay delightful and nothing will be too much trouble for them."

I was fortunate to be able to spend 3 days in this paradise that is Naboisho camp. I can say that I was very well treated on days we stayed in this camp, everything was perfect, beautifully decorated tent, super nice lounge, the tasty meals, a call out of the ordinary where unique and special attention is given to each tent occupant by everyone from the manager to the Maasai warriors. I totally recommend to stay in this camp, I loved the Walking Safari which was a great experience along with Roelf which is an extremely skilled professional and provides total security and peace of mind for participants in this type of game where you can be in more intimate interaction of animals and their home. The manager Moses was really helpful providing us with various information and allowing total enchantment with the region and with nature. Helen, the manager, assured a flawless dinner on our marriage anniversary which was unforgettable. There is a great shop with good prices of original products from the Maasai, we recommend that you buy these because it is not easy to find this kind of product in Africa. The night drive was good but the games during the day and the picnic were more interesting because the place is fabulous. Stay in Naboisho and in the sequence go to Rekero because you will be making the best choice and perfect combination! Lucas and Bejamim formed a perfect team with a high level of knowledge not only of the region but also the fauna and flora. Perfect camp!!!"

Love Topi House!

We had a great six night stay at Asilia's Topi House (third time for us) this February 2014.. The staff is superb. Many thanks to the world's greatest guide Salaash and the staff - Nabaala, Leonard and James for a perfect visit. Food, service and guiding were great and the house is wonderful. You are right out in the wilderness with game nearby. You have the whole house to yourself and whomever you have traveled with and your own driver/guide as well. We came back the third time and are booked for a fourth next year!"

Exceeded All Expectations!

My wife and I were going to Nairobi for a business meeting and had three days available for a vacation on this our first visit to Africa. After much online research we ending up choosing Naboisho Camp and were extremely happy with the decision.
My wife is vegetarian and they cooked a special – and tasty – main course for her for every meal without making it seem like it was extra work. The walking safari was the highlight for me. Getting close to the ground and learning about the interactions between animals, insects and plants was excellent. It was incredible to just walk through the land and encounter animals at their level and without vehicle sounds. The staff, hosts and even the management of the company – in camp for a visit – demonstrated that they care about the health of the conservancy, the local people and the animals. They are leaders in responsible tourism in the area. They bill themselves as a small luxury safari tented camp with personal service and deliver on it with everything they did. As long as you understand what the accommodations are then you will have a great time. I could not find fault with any part of the stay and never felt service was insincere. We would spend the money again. I hope to return in the future and have already recommended it to family members."
