Migration Monday Update - 03 Feb 2014

Migration Monday Update - 03 Feb 2014It seems the big herds of wildebeest have moved just a little bit further South from the main Ndutu area. Reports from Ubuntu Camp - which is further South from Ndutu and found in the Kakesio region of the NCA (Ngorongoro Conservation Area) - is that the valley and open plains found directly in front of their camp is full of thousands of wildebeest. The plains heading towards Ubuntu Camp from Ndutu also still has big groups of wildebeest and lots of females are now calving, so if you are lucky you might even get to witness one of these births.

In Ndutu and especially around the Kusini area some smaller groups of wildebeest can still be seen. Ubuntu has not seen the wild dogs for the past two weeks, but hopefully they will come back into the area again...

Till next week,
Joe du Plessis
