Migration Monday Update - 09 Dec 2013Hi all and once again welcome to this week's Migration update. The latest report from Sayari Camp | Asilia Africa in the North Serengeti - Kogatende/Mara area - is that they still have some good herds of Wildebeest around, they have seen a lot crossing from the Masai Mara side, coming back South into Tanzania, and they think that they might still be crossing for the next couple of days... This is the longest that Wildebeest have stayed in that area, to still see crossings this late into December is truly lucky for safari guests in that area! The herds that are in the North will now probably also start moving South as some parts especially Moru Serengeti has received some good rain turning brown into beautiful green, and so some Wildebeest have now already arrived there.

Other than the North there are still, as per last week, good numbers in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti but it won't be to long until they also start moving further South... Camps in the Ndutu Area - which is just outside of the Serengeti - are patiently awaiting the arrival of the Wildebeest, which should not be to long from now as rain is constantly building up in the more Southern parts.

Lest see what next week will bring!
