Migration Monday Update - 21 Oct 2013

Migration Monday Update - 21 Oct 2013The latest update from our guides is that the Wildebeest are currently still split up in many big groups in different areas, as they make their way down South. Big herds have been seen around Musabi Plain and also Dutwa plain as well as around the Kirawira Camp area. This is all around and in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. Large numbers are also still seen around the Ikoma loop area, which is a bit more North of the Western Corridor. Also still some of the tail end of the Migration is coming in from Northern Serengeti. Last week some good numbers of Zebra have arrived in Seronera, so they are ahead of the Wildebeest. However, the grass is still very dry there so they might even go back or stick around and wait for some rain... Surprisingly, I have also seen some good wildebeest herds in the Masai Mara but think they might be resident and not move South.
