Migration Monday Update - 16 Dec 2013Hi all, and welcome to this week's update on the Wildebeest Migration! A lot has happened since our last update, and a big majority of the Wildebeest herds have moved much further south. Dunia Camp | Asilia Africa in Moru, Serengeti were delighted as this past week several thousand Wildebeest started moving into the Moru area central Serengeti, arriving from the Western Corridor of the park.

Sayari Camp | Asilia Africa and the Northern Kogatende areas have been enjoying crossings very late into the season, but they saw their last small crossing 3 days ago along with a good zebra crossing as well, there are still a few Wildebeest groups in the Lamai area but these might be resident, the rest of the herds have left the area.

Word from the Ndutu area as well as the NCA (Ngorongoro Conservation Area) is that they received some good rainfall over the weekend and that the area is slowly starting to green up with new grass growth. We suspect that the wildebeest might arrive in these areas in the next week or two, depending on the rainfall.

But for now the best place for the Wildebeest herds seems to be Moru/Seronera and possibly also soon up towards Nabi gate. Until next week!
