Migration Monday Update - 27 Jan 2014

Migration Monday Update - 27 Jan 2014The greater Ndutu Area is still the place to be if you would like to see beautiful big open plains with lovely green grass and millions of Wildebeest scattered all over like small dark little ants, as this lovely photo by Asilia Africa guide Oredi Nondo shows. Thanks Oredi for this great image!

The Ndutu and most parts of the NCA (Ngorongoro Conservation area) has once again received some good rain this past week, attracting great numbers of different animals. The Wildebeest Migration is still roaming around Naabi Hill, Miti Mitatu (triple trees) and all along the way to Maswa Game reserve. Only a few newborn calves were seen this week, with more expected to be dropped in February.

Lots of Wildebeest are also seen on the open plains towards Kusini as well as the Ndutu plains, and the guides saw a few calves being born on these plains.

Ndutu and the NCA areas are truly beautiful this time of the year, and it's a great place to see great numbers of different animals enjoying the lovely short green grass, and with that also the chance to see a great number of different predators hunting these herbivores!

Till next Monday!
