We strongly believe in the positive force that the combination of our guests, our travel industry partners and our own operations can make to the areas we currently operate in, and the ones we might move into in the years to come.
Various companies have proven it across Africa, and we have proven it – most noticeably in camps/areas like Matemwe/Zanzibar and Sayari/Northern Serengeti. Coverage on tourism nowadays often focuses on “guilt marketing” – making ourselves feel guilty about our presence and focusing on limiting our negative impact. However, the right kind of tourism is a very positive thing, and we would like to involve you, our guests, in our focus on being the strongest positive force we can be. The areas you will visit with us will leave lasting impressions with you – and these areas should last forever. You can expect us to step it up in the years to come. We will remove current weak spots - such as installing an eco-friendly sewage system at Matemwe by June 2010 – and we will train our staff further to be the ambassadors of sustainable practices in their communities and towards our guests.
We will move into new areas worth protecting, and try to be even more influential in the areas we already operate in. We welcome our partners and guests to actually challenge us, keep us on our toes, push our progress and participate in it.
