Dunia Camp Sustainability Actions
Operating on a zero impact policy Dunia prefers to leave footsteps behind and only take memories from nature. Our humble 7 tented mobile camp boasts all the creature comforts on ones wish list from hot water showers heated by our eco-friendly coconut husks especially brought to camp from Tanzania’s coastal areas to fine dining.
The camp operates in game hot spots and is moved a couple times a year in order to be best placed for game viewing. There are no permanent structures and the camp can be broken down and reassembled in a matter of days leaving the previous site as we found it with the exception of a couple foot paths which are quickly reclaimed by the resilient African bush.
In our endeavour to act responsibly towards the environment we are still able to offer a world class service with zero compromise to guests. Waste items are sorted, weighed, recorded and shipped out as part of our commitment to a sustainable future for our areas of operation.
Dunia guides are in regular contact with our local rangers and make sure that information is shared on animal sightings especially when it comes to the rare and endangered black rhino found within one of our areas.
