Great Wildebeest Migration
Without doubt the annual Wildebeest Migration is one of nature’s greatest spectacles. Asilia will ensure you have front-row seats away from the crowds. Choose from the luxury of one of our permanent camps close to the river crossings, or stay in one of our seasonal camps that move a few times a year to follow the migration.

Honeymoon & Romantic Travel
The romance of an African safari makes it the perfect choice for a honeymoon or special holiday. Explore the African wilderness at sunrise and sunset, sleep out under the stars or walk along a deserted, white sand beach. Asilia’s intimate properties make for an idyllic setting, and our experienced staff will be on hand to make your holiday unforgettable.
Asilia’s camps are situated in the best locations to ensure your game viewing is world-class. Whether this is your first safari and you are looking for the Big 5, or you are an old hand searching for a unique sighting, nothing beats the exhilaration of tracking and then finding that elusive creature. Asilia trains its guides to the highest standards and uses five- or seven-seater vehicles to ensure everyone has a window seat to enjoy the action.
Night Game Drives
The African bush certainly does not sleep at night! Learn about and encounter Africa’s elusive nocturnal creatures on a night drive, whether you are searching for the rare pangolin or watching a leopard hunt, you will be surprised by what goes on after dark.
Guided Walking Safaris
There is no better way to experience the African bush than on foot, where the tracks, beetles and bugs spring to life. It is likely that you will get close to larger mammals with Asilia’s experienced walking guides but this is the chance to take a closer look at the little things and appreciate the African bush from the earth upwards.
Wilderness Area Fly Camping
Imagine going to sleep at night with only the sounds of the African bush around you and the only lights the stars overhead. Fly Camping gives you a true wilderness experience; there is nothing between you and the African bush. This might take you a little outside your comfort zone, but once you try it, you will be hooked!
East Africa’s bird life is rich and diverse, with over 1000 species in both Kenya and Tanzania. For serious twitchers specialist birding guides can be arranged. For those new to birding our guides’ enthusiasm will breed a curiosity in our feathered friends that will have you returning year after year.
See the world from a different perspective when you go underwater. East Africa has some of the world’s most pristine diving sites. At Matemwe on Zanzibar beginners can complete their PADI course and more advanced divers can explore the Mnemba Atoll.
Enjoy the exhilaration of big game fishing. Fishing adventures are offered on the Indian Ocean, as well as on Lake Victoria – Africa’s largest fresh water lake – where you stand a chance of hooking the legendary Nile Perch.
Exclusive Use Accommodation
For that special trip, whether with a group of friends or family, many properties are available for exclusive use. Taking a property on an exclusive basis makes it your home-from-home, meaning you decide the schedule and enjoy your activities at your own pace.
All Asilia camps can be booked exclusively, however Sayari and Oliver’s Camp are configured with two separate common areas and accommodation wings making it possible to have an exclusive area for a group or family. At Sayari nine or six rooms - with their separate dining and lounge areas - can be booked exclusively. At Oliver’s Camp ten or five rooms - with their separate dining and lounge areas - can be booked exclusively.
On Zanzibar, we have the exclusive use Matemwe Retreat and Matemwe Beach House which are ideal for couples, families or a group of friends.
"I can’t say enough good things about this camp, their staff, and its location. From the moment we stepped off the plane and were greeted by our guide, Reuben, we were made to feel welcome, and most importantly, comfortable and safe. When we arrived at camp, Richard, the manager, really made us feel at home. Our three boys, aged 11, 13 and 15, shared a tent, and my husband and I had the tent next to it. It was incredible to have such comfortable accommodations in such a remote place - flush toilet, hot bucket shower, an actual bed, and a lounge area."
