I cannot fault Rekero camp, site, accommodation, nor the staff & guide. All were fantastic! The tent was a dream, the food heavenly & plentiful, our Maasai guide, Martin, was so knowledgeable, his English so good & his manner so polite. He knew about everything, plants, birds, animals, habitat, & more, I learned SO MUCH! We even discussed philosophy... hmmmm. I saw all the Big 5 + much much more. I have incredible memories & astounding photos! I loved every minute of my 4 days there & would LOVE to go back!"

Great camp, friendly staff
We spent one night at Olakira Camp when it was at the Mara river. Beautiful location, perfect wilderness feel and very friendly staff. We even managed to see the Wildebeest migration cross the Mara river twice!!"

Top notch personalized service
We had been traveling for over 12 days on safari before we arrived to Matemwe Lodge for the last leg of our honeymoon trip in East Africa. The staff was superb in ensuring our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The staff knew our names and checked in on us every day to see if we needed anything. When we returned from our day activities we were greeted with warm smiles and inquiries on how our day was. The food was excellent. All bungalows faced the ocean and the rooms were spacious. The staff was very accomodating. We wanted to spend a day shopping and exploring Stone Town and the package tour was 3 hours. We spoke to Sandy, who said it was no problem and arrange a car and guide to stay with us for as long as we wanted in Stone Town. We were able to stay for a sundowner in Stone Town before heading back to the Lodge. Wonderful staff, wonderful location, wonderful property. Highly reccomended.

Our Happy New Year Adventure!
My daughter and I were guests of Olakira during the second week of January, 2014. Our first impression was "Oh my, are we going to be okay?" Well, after 1 full day and night we were in love with it! Being put out in tent #8 out of 9 guests tents, and being pretty far away from the main camp, we needed to be brave and confident. We did just fine. It ended up being our favorite 3 days of our 4 country,16 day adventure. Our guide, Goodluck was great, and so were all of the staff, including our Maasai warrior who escorted us to our tent every night. The food is fantastic! The other guests we got to know at meal times were interesting and fun. And then there are the animals! I am still thinking about them 3 weeks later. I highly recommend staying at this camp. You will have everything you need and then some, and you will take home some fantastic memories! (By the way; I am 57 and my daughter is 26)."

“Amazing Staff, Amazing Atmosphere....Amazing Experience Indeed”
My wife and I were lucky enough to have spent a few days with the wonderful team at Dunia. We can't thank them enough for their high attention to detail and a level of service you would normally recieve from a 5-star resort... Let alone in the middle of the Serengeti. Truly a magical experience from the food, to the accommodations but more importantly the folks who went above and beyond time and time again. Japhet and team provide us both with memories of our honeymoon we will cherish for a lifetime."

A Magical and Memorable Safari!
We had the best and most memorable experience staying at Kwihala. From the moment we were collected from Ruaha airstrip by Leverd (trainee guide) and his driver colleague, our safari began. Sara was a great manager, always on hand to offer help and advice (and toothpaste!) and the guiding was awesome!! Lorenzo was everything you could wish from a guide, and more. His passion for the animals and birds was obvious and his enthusiasm was infectious, sharing with us the sights, sounds and smells of Ruaha. We shared our vehicle with a wonderful young couple from Australia and, together with Lorenzo and Leverd, we had the best photo-packed, animal spotting, fun time ever. My true highlight was seeing a female leopard in a 'sausage tree' shortly after sunrise - magical!
The accommodation was far better than I had imagined. Clean, roomy, comfortable bed, flush toilet and hot water in the evening just right for a shower before dinner. We chose to have breakfast in the bush which was perfect - all laid out on the bonnet of the land rover! Otherwise you could return to camp mid-safari. For those wondering (as I did) how one 'relieves' oneself on safari. Don't worry just ask your guide and he will find the perfect safe and secluded spot for you behind a bush or tree. Male or female, you soon overcome embarrassment and it becomes part of safari life. Even the guides have to 'go'!
We had a visit from an elephant on site one night but the staff were at hand to make sure guests were safe. We also heard a lion roaring some distance away during the night.
We loved the genuine friendly and relaxed atmosphere at Kwihala and the sharing of stories between guests, guides and management around the camp fire each night, followed by communal dinner outside under the stars. We stayed for 3 nights and wished we had stayed longer. We will never, ever, forget Kwihala. Thank you to everyone there."

Tenting at its best!
This is tenting at its best! Inside the tent - hot showers and flush toilets, totally comfortable beds and gourmet food to rival any 5 star restaurant. It was amazing to watch the endless parade of migrating wildebeests passing so close to the camp or have a giraffe wander by just outside the tent. Mark and his staff are awesome. They welcomed us warmly with cool towels and a special drink. They treated us like family, always making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed from sun screen to hot chocolate. It was truly the experience we were hoping to find on the Serengeti."

A terrific camp in an outstanding part of Tanzania
We stayed at Sayari for 3 luxurious nights - the service, the food and the accommodations were amazing. Ross and Katherine are lovely hosts, Simba is a terrific chef and all of the staff are very attentive - greeting us each day as we returned from safari with warm towels, setting up a table for us under a shady tree for lunch, arranging for a private table for our dinners. The setting is incredible - an absolutely beautiful part of the Serengeti just bordering Kenya. Our guide Kivuyo was fabulous. Kivuyo asked first thing what was on our wish list to see and then set out to ensure we saw everything on our list which we did! The rooms are luxurious, the coffee delivered to our 'tent' with cookies each morning was such a lovely treat. Overall just an excellent experience!"

My family and I went on a 2 week safari in Tanzania in January. We stayed in 4 different camps and one hotel. Sayari Camp was, without a doubt, our favorite. Everything was perfect- amazing hosts, fabulous accommodations and truly incredible food. There were so many wonderful aspects to this camp: whenever possible the staff brought the tables outside and it was so lovely eating under the trees. Also the showers were great - like a rain shower. There was a pool that was the perfect temperature. The hosts Katherine and Ross were amazing - so welcoming and helpful. And the Northern Serengeti itself was beyond spectacular! The landscape was gorgeous - green with amazing rock formations. And the wildlife viewing blew us away. This place is a must if you are going on Safari in Tanzania!"

We recently spent a week of our honeymoon at the Matemwe Retreat. I could not be happier with the choice of staying at the Matemwe Retreat. The staff - whether it's the management, the servers in the dining room, the bartenders, the spa, or the housekeeping - all were extremely professional - and knew our names on day 1. The food was excellent - better than any meal we had eaten during our 3 weeks in Africa. The property itself is beautiful and serene. The beach is not meant for swimming - and that was ok for us - we were much more interested in the views, the people, the charm - and we ended up taking a drive to a nice swimming beach for a 1/2 day. Glad we stayed in a quiet place instead of the tourist traps of the main beaches of Zanzibar.
We will recommend the Matemwe to all our friends that plan to visit Zanzibar!"
