Hi, and welcome to this week's wildebeest migration update from the Serengeti National Park. A lot has happened in this last week, our Ubuntu Camp
has packed up and three days ago they left their campsite in Kakesio (NCA) and they are on their way and settling in the Western Corridor region of the Serengeti and will open again on the 1st of May. This will be an exciting time of the migration as they will be crossing the Grumeti River; a very testing time for them as the river is filled with huge crocodiles... It will also be the main rutting and mating season so lots to look forward to.
Ok back to the present! Olakira Camp
situated in Ndutu, reported this morning seeing a very, very large group of wildebeest coming from Makao, an area south in the Maswa Game Reserve, they were heading towards Kusini and ultimately Ndutu and the big marsh area, and possibly also Naabi Hill. Ndutu had four days of very hard rain which might have spiked the movement.
Till next week!
