Now managed day to day by Clea Earnshaw and Conway Sassoon, Rekero camp continues to be overseen by Jackson Looseyia and Gerard more than a decade after they took over from Ron Beaton ensuring the tradition of evolution is maintained and nurtured.
The whole team grew up in Kenya and bring to it a wealth of experience both from within the Mara but also as far away as the north east of Kenya.
Guiding is one of Rekero’s best known attributes and the current team, many of who started as junior staff members, are all from neighbouring communities. Through careful training and nurture of the life time understanding of the region the group has become recognised as one of the very best. They were rewarded by the Good Safari Guide in 2011 who named them as the ‘Best Guiding Team in Africa”.
