For 15 years, Asilia Africa has led with our desire to bring you genuine safaris that make a genuine difference in the lives of both our guests and the people of East Africa. When you travel with Asilia, you become part of our family. We care deeply about the wellbeing of our guests, staff and the communities where we work, and are proud to be recognised as a leader in our industry. This important value has guided us as, together, we face the challenges of responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19), which the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared a global pandemic.
We are continually monitoring the situation, including travel restrictions and updates to travel policies that may impact you. The health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority. Below is an update on what we are doing to keep your safety top of mind.
Our top priority is everyone’s health and wellbeing. We highly recommend people everywhere follow the health and travel advice of relevant authorities like the WHO.
Your travel with Asilia
We are experiencing high volumes of enquiries and appreciate your patience while we assist those due to travel imminently, which may mean our replies are slower than normal. Given the impact of COVID-19 on how we work, socialize and travel, we have been adapting our cancellation policy over the past several weeks to the evolving nature of this epidemic.
Where a travel ban prevents you from leaving your home country, or from travelling into the part of East Africa you are visiting, we will do all we can to postpone your trip to within a year so you can continue to look forward to an incredible safari. Those travelling in the next couple of months are our immediate focus, so please bear with us while we assist those meant to travel in the next 60 days. If your trip is booked for further ahead, please hold tight and we assure you that in turn, you will be our top priority as we get closer to your departure.
Please reach out to your tour operator, travel agent and/or Asilia’s guest services team for any enquiries.
During your stay with Asilia
We recognize that the COVID-19 virus has required all of us to be more mindful as we go through our regular activities. Health and safety have always been a top priority at Asilia, and we are now intensifying our measures. Our staff has spent the past few weeks running COVID-19-specific training for all of our camps to ensure we have everything in place to protect our guests and staff, and to ensure that they meet the latest guidance from the WHO and our medical partners at ParkDoctor on hygiene and cleaning. Our health and safety measures cover everything from handwashing hygiene to guest room and common area cleaning procedures to 24/7 emergency medical support.
We understand that the recent news and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation may have caused you to worry about your travel plans and future travel options. Whether you have a safari booked or are planning upcoming travel, we promise to do our best to support you and we all look forward to welcoming you on safari with warm hospitality.
