Amazing Trip, Amazing Camp!

This camp by far exceeded our expectations and was absolutely phenomenal!!! We stayed for 4 nights and were truly sad to leave...if we could have stayed longer we would have never left! The camp and overall atmosphere were fantastic and secluded. Our guide, Francis, was extremely knowledgeable, truly cared about the animals, and was hilarious!

The staff at Encounter are all outstanding and I have never met better staff in my life! Sammi and Ezina were so friendly, funny, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was fantastic and everyone was cared for. We really liked getting to know them. Edwin and the rest of the staff were so attentive, kind, and amazing!

I have Celiac's and the care and effort the staff went to in order to make sure my food was safe (and DELICIOUS) was out of this world. I never once felt let out or hungry, and could not believe the care they took of us!

We cannot say enough great things about this camp, anyone staying in the Mara should book with Encounter immediately!

Amazing Trip

Mara House is outstanding. Food was great and service was attentive. Setting included a pond, frequented by wildlife, including a family of 6 elephants, gazelles, warthogs, etc. Pool was great for the children. Make sure to relax by the pool and watch the wildlife.

Amazing safari stay

A group of 6 of us stayed at Topi House and it was an amazing experience. The staff could not have done more to make our stay any better. From the moment we landed at the airstrip Martin was a friendly, informative and energetic presence on our tours and had amazing knowledge of the Mara and all the animals. The staff at the house provided a great service with fantastic food and hospitality. The house itself far exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend the business for anyone looking for a safari of a lifetime

65th Birthday Celebration

What an amazing experience! Our guide Evelyn was was outstanding in her knowledge of the animals and birds that roam and fly the Mara and finding every animal for us to see and enjoy! Camp managers Eric, Caroline and Marcie are fantastic hosts and Alex just rounds out the team. Food service everyday was out of this world and the credit goes to the chef! The service staff, askaris and the rest of the team went out of their way to make our stay extremely comfortable.

We saw the big five up and close and every game animal we wanted to see, the highlight was seeing lion cubs, cheetah and leopard up and close - inside 5 feet!

Accommodations in the tent are incredibly comfortable and the night animal sounds enhances the safari experience!

Ol Pejeta Bush Camp – Family Vacation

I don’t even know if I can find the words to describe the way that our family feels about this place. The experience, the people, and the grounds are absolutely amazing! The camp is gorgeous... it is located in the middle of a conservancy with the best views.

The first night we arrived there was an elephant right outside the back of the reception office and after that we had monkeys and other great animals in the same area. The rooms are very clean and very nice! They are roomy and have everything that you need for your stay. The employees are INCREDIBLE. We had two guides (Duma and Mike) that took us on our game drives and showed us the area. These gentleman are some of the most kind and knowledgeable individuals that we encountered in Africa. No question was a dumb question to them. They taught us so much about the animals and shared their lives with us. There was also a gentleman by the name of Moses, he was the most organized person. We wish every place we stayed had him. He had our schedule down to a T and also had everything in order. He made sure that all of our questions were answered and all of our needs were taken care of.

Lastly, we had three people that helped us throughout our stay.... Alfred, Edna, and Joshua. All three were so kind and helpful. Alfred always had a smile on his face and made us feel like we were at home. If we asked for it, he made it happen. Edna was so personable and learned our names and made us feel like family. Joshua was very polite, and always made sure our meals were perfect. We saw so many great animals here and learned so much. When we come back to Africa we WILL stay here again.

As I said in the beginning... there are no words to describe the feeling that this place gave us. This was only the beginning of our trip, but we were so sad to leave these amazing people. We HIGHLY recommend this place ... please let them show you how great they are! WE LOVE YOU ALL FROM COLORADO! ️

1. Rekero Camp Talek River

I couldn’t recommend this camp more highly. We have been on safari twice before and this was our best experience by far. The camp itself is luxurious (perfect service, delicious meals, lovely tents and a beautiful main area) yet still feels like you are in the bush.

The camp has a big focus on eco measures. Our family tent was huge (a room in the back with two single beds, a big bathroom, a main bedroom with a super king bed and a front area with an additional single bed and sofa (this is where they leave the coffee each morning when they wake you for the drive)).

The Masai guides at this camp know the bush so well and can find the animals and predict their movements. Dominic was wonderful and my nine year old cried when we had to say goodbye to him. The animals during the migration were absolutely amazing. We saw everything (crossings, kills, lion turf wars, lionesses with their cubs, leopards, cheetah...and many of everything!).

The camp is in the perfect location to see lots of animals and crossings from the main area of the camp while sipping a glass of wine and relaxing. Also there were no bugs or worrying creatures! Our previous safaris had lots of mosquitos and scorpions but we had none at all. We loved everything about Rekero and hope we have the privilege of going back one day.

If you follow the travel / safari press then this camp, with Angel as the camp manager, should already be familiar to you!

We're regular Asilia clientele and this camp, permanent as it now is, ranks as our favourite place in the Serengeti. There's a lovely feel and flow to the place with most of the staff, not all, ladies it is certainly unique.

The food is excellent with the choice of communal or private dining. We decided to miss dinner one evening and it was no trouble at all to bring a fruit platter with hot drinks to the tent - much appreciated.

Where it is situated you are well placed for the usual morning and evening game drive configurations as well as all-day excursions for those so disposed. We went to visit one of their upgraded camps in Namiri Plains and had a fantastic day of sightings as a result.

Looking to return soon, we've worked out that this is accessible in a long days drive from Kili airport and is such a good base for safari trips within the immediate area surrounding the camp as well as longer drives for those who can't get enough of Africa and the animals and birds.

We had the pleasure of 5 nights at Jabali Ridge in September 2019 - it is a simply spectacular place! There is nothing simple however about the accommodation - it's pure unadulterated luxury!

Great staff (big shout out to Jackson, Omembe, Stella and Nico), great management (hello Kristina and Rama!), wonderful food (jambo to Mark, Chef Jackson and Peter Andrew - thank you for the snacks and recipes!) and the most wonderful expert guides (Walter - you made our trip!).

The Ruaha national park is magnificent - I think we visited at the best time of year. Not at all crowded, enough water to draw the animals in, but dry so we could travel great distances.

We saw more lions than we could keep count of, six leopards in five days, parades of elephant nearly every day and a serval - plus giraffe, impala, kudu at every turn.

It's a lovely place to stay, with great food and super people - in the best location. Loved it!

This was my fourth African safari. Two were excellent and one was mediocre, but this camp wins the prize by far. The tents were comfortable with elegant simplicity.

The food was fabulous and my celiac diet was accommodated with ease (I had more selection than I do at many restaurants at home - how can a small kitchen in a tent in the bush provide better options than a big city restaurant? I was impressed beyond belief).

Above all else was the incredible staff. Friendly and competent. Again, many hotels and restaurants at home could learn a lot from this company on how to provide excellent service. Topping off this amazing staff were the guides. I find it hard to imagine anyone having greater knowledge than our head guide Charles.

Sight, sound, and smell are on high alert at all times and his ability to spot even the tiniest details was impressive beyond belief. Add to this his obvious love of learning and teaching, as well as his good communication skills and sense of humour, and you have the epitome of the safari guide. Our group learned so much.

To top it all off was Asilia’s philosophy of sustainability and of giving back to the local communities. Most impressive.

I will recommend this company to anyone considering a safari and I will be booking any future safari with them. We did in fact do a second safari with Asilia right after and found the same level of commitment. Impossible to go back to anything else after this experience.

Cannot say enough great things about Little Oliver's Camp, Levy, camp manager, staff, and especially, our terrific guide, Stanley. The whole team made for a completely unforgettable visit to Tarangire NP. The camp itself is a diamond in the rough or should I say, "bush"! Our tent was amazing, very comfortable and spacious.

The camp is located on an elevated piece of land that overlooks a river which makes for beautiful views and also plenty of animal viewing. Every meal was top notch, fully prepared lunches were provided for your safari outings and we loved that dinner was served family style, Levy and Stanley also dined with us., making it a very personal experience.

Our guide Stanley was by our side from the moment we arrived and also arranged a bush walk and night drive for us, those with the day drives made for a well rounded complete safari experience. We loved every minute of our stay at Little Olivers!! Thank you, Levy, Stanley and team!

This is an enchanting camp. The rooms are outstanding, private, the staff is attentive and personable. We were greeted by staff singing to us as we arrived at camp and that continued throughout our stay.

We especially enjoyed our last dinner when several of the Maasai staff sang and did a jump dance for us. Our safari guide, Albert, was wonderful.

Cheetah were our priority having never seen one on our previous safaris.

Albert found 22 in one day, breaking a record for the camp! We were with him for 5 days, 2 camps, and hours of driving. He was intelligent, personable, knowledgeable about the animals and where to find them, answered our questions on tribal customs and culture and at the end of our time with him it was hard to say good-bye. He is a real asset to the Asilia brand.

The tent accommodation and communal areas were well equipped and provided comfort. The added advantage of moving a bed into the screened area to enjoy the night sky alongside dining experiences under the stars and around the fire were well received.

Staff, specifically our driver were vigilant in providing the best top 5+ sightings and his knowledge of the area and its wildlife was entaining and informative. 6 star ++
Manager and assistant were on hand at all times and provide very professional service including vital conversation on the history of the Serengeti and its ecoystem.

The Asilia group are experts in organising the connections between hotels and flights, providing escorts through all airports removing all areas of confusion.

The close proximity of the camp to the wildebeest crossing reduces travel times and creates more wildlife discovery opportunities.

Afternoon rest was a very welcomed period as the day generally started at 0500 with fresh coffee, returning 1300 to lunch and a second safari at 4pm. Dinner served 1945 and often bed 2230, big days. We cannot fault this camp though do not believe a mobile camp is essential. Asilia had a permanent camp close by.

This was the entry of our 10 day safari and TRULY a warm and wondrous home that we missed dearly leaving but was met with sweet exceedingly impressive experiences at each Asilia lodge to follow.

Stanley was our comedian, friend, artist, and eagle eye expert! Mary was a best friend and inspiration for how we can encourage generations of women to come on their place in the bush, adventure tourism, conservationists and leaders!

The staff of Asilia was a liberating force to experience every welcoming moment truly raising the bar for how to be better stewards of our planet and to one another. Genuine, unconditional hospitality is abundant here and their joy, colorful expression of culture and authentic friendship truly taught me how to become a better person and travel leader.

So much love to Manja and all of the guides and the wonder women creating a momentum for female empowerment in the bush and the world at large!
