The Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research falls under part of the University College of London’s Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment. In 2018, the Centre undertook a huge biome project, setting up many camera traps within the Greater Mara Area in Kenya in order to gain a better understanding of the wildlife in these areas and how they were living and behaving.

Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa, announced that the last day to use plastic bags in Tanzania will be 31 May 2019, and thereafter the production, selling, importation, or use of plastic bags will not be allowed.
