Matemwe : Adventure vs Relaxation
When planning a seaside getaway – most people are happy to just spend the day on the beach, catching a tan and keeping cool by the pool. However, there are those who look for an adventure-filled beach vacation – or those who like a nice combination of the two! Let us show you how to experience Zanzibar in the most action-packed, and relaxing, way possible.
Matemwe Beach is a peaceful spot on the lush tropical island of Zanzibar. With a shallow, coral-fringed lagoon, it is the perfect place for a tropical beach holiday, the ideal place to relax and unwind after a busy game-viewing safari. Just off the coast is the world-famous Mnemba Atoll, said to provide some of the best diving and snorkelling on the continent. The waters off these mesmerizing coral reefs provide brilliant sightings of colorful reef fish, turtles, and a variety of dolphin species, while the deeper Indian Ocean gives you the chance to see humpback whales on their annual migration route between July and November.

Fish and Spice Markets

Head back with a freshly caught fish and some spices, we’ll show you how to use them in a cooking class.
Alternatively, you can visit a spice plantation and learn about the tropical fruits and spices that are grown on the land and bestow Zanzibar with their goodness.
