Moinga Timan: Tanzania’s Guide of the Year 2019
On the 5th of June, the Tanzanian Tour Guide Awards announced their yearly winners. We could not be prouder of Moinga Timan, who was awarded The Tanzanian Guide of the Year Award for 2019! An incredible accomplishment that is a testament to Moi’s passion for wildlife. It is absolutely a well-deserved award that acknowledges the dedication and hard work he has put in over the years.

We are extremely proud of Moi and are thrilled to have the pleasure of working with him since 2015 where he started guiding in Ruaha. He has guided countless guests at Kwihala Camp, Jabali Ridge, as well as Namiri Plains – passing on the knowledge he has learnt as well as sharing many laughs and stories, too.
Anyone who’s been on safari can tell you the importance of having a good guide – one with profound knowledge and experience who can unlock the mysteries of the African wilderness and ensure you come away with magical memories to treasure.
“No other individuals have the same direct, personal impact on the experience of our guests.” – Tour Guide Awards Tanzania
Pietro Luraschi, our Head Guide Trainer, has worked with Moinga over the last few years and had the following words to say, “I am proud of the guide and the man you are. Step by step you, climbed a ladder that at the beginning seemed so long, you fought and inched forward, even when it was hard, always with your honesty leading your actions. All we had to do was give you the keys to open doors and watching you grow.”
Congratulations, Moinga – you wholeheartedly deserve this award. Continue being the exceptional role model you are for our younger generation while doing what you love!
