Diving & Snorkelling

Nearby Diani Marine 5-star PADI Dive Centre has been providing first-class diving excursions for more than 30 years. They offer one boat trip per day (2 dives) and an additional one in the afternoon on request. Diani Marine also have a 3.6 meter deep pool for beginners to learn the basics of scuba.

The stunning Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park can easily be visited and is arguably the best reef in Kenya in terms of species diversity and coral quality. The warm, pristine waters are host to dramatic coral formations, dolphins, turtles, stingrays, moray eels and a bewildering variety of sea life.

Kitesurfing and Windsurfing

Diani Beach is renowned for its great kitesurfing and windsurfing, thanks to the ever-present trade winds which blow into the spacious beach and the calm water conditions that the fringing reef offers. The resort is located very near one of the top water sports centres in the area who can book sessions for you.

Big-game fishing

For those who are keen on big game fishing, the Indian Ocean is rich with blue marlins, sailfish, and tuna.

Golf

The 18-hole Leisure Lodge Golf Club is just 5 minutes down the road from AfroChic. The course stretches among palms, cashew nut trees and other tropical fauna.

Game drives

The national reserve of Shimba Hills is only 30 minutes from Diani, which contains rich grasslands and equatorial forests. Although it might not compare to some of Kenya’s larger national parks, visitors can expect to see elephant, buffalo, monkeys, various species of bird, rare sable antelope and maybe even leopard.

Cultural experience

Mombasa old town is just a one-hour drive away from AfroChic. Guests can wander through the ancient streets, visit Fort Jesus and the fruit and vegetable market to get a true flavour of Swahili life.
