Excellent food. Over the top service. Gorgeous lodge and rooms. The site is magnificent. We went on a game drive from the airport before checking in after having been met with wine and a bit of finger food. Absolutely worth the experience for two to three days on the crater edge - LRF17
Yes, it's over the top. There are chandeliers everywhere, velvet drapes, overstuffed armchairs...and then the architecture. It's JRR Tolkien meets gold leaf and bling. This all feels a little out of place in East Africa, but it's worth the experience. The views over the crater are amazing, and zebras roam the lawn. Personally I usually like more restraint to luxury, especially in the developing world, but we really enjoyed our stay here. You can definitely enjoy the crater just as much from somewhere a bit more modest, but we were very glad to have this experience - Sworn2Fun
This was our last stop on a 10 day safari trip. Talk about saving the best for last. This property is spectacular. They have three sections: North camp, South camp and the Treehouse. We were traveling with 3 other couples and our accommodations were in the treehouse section. The common area was beautiful, built around a massive old tree with comfortable couches and a beautiful dining area. The were Roses everywhere. They head rose petals surrounding our dinner table. When we came back from our game drive in the crater, there was a bubble bath drawn with rose petals in the shape of a heart. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The food and wine were fabulous. We didn't want to leave. This is a must stay - TravelPamVB
