There is plenty to see when staying at the lodge. Descend into the crater itself and seek out the wildlife species that inhabit it – famously, the critically endangered black rhinos and impressively tusked elephants. If you wish to stretch your legs, enjoy a short walk around the lodge grounds.  

For chilly nights, seek refuge in front of a blazing fire. Enjoy a fine-dining experience, with 50 percent of the fresh produce organically grown on farms around the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.  

Indulge in some well-deserved R&R with the lodge’s in-room spa services while admiring sweeping views of the crater, visit the safari shop for a bit of retail therapy, explore the wine cellar or find a quiet corner for a bit of alone time with a good book.  

Rooms

A fireplace at the heart of your suite is kept ablaze by your discrete butler. The roof is thatched with banana leaves, the furnishings are wooden, and the king-sized bed is decked in heavy linens to keep you warm during the brisk nights. During the day, the billowing silk curtains framing the floor-to-ceiling French windows can be opened to offer a view of undisturbed nature outside. At night, beaded chandeliers cast a warm glow over the room, reflecting on the gilt mirrors. 

Spend afternoons scanning the landscape for roaming wildlife and forest birds from the comfort of your veranda or a bubble bath. Amenities in each room include a safe, hairdryer, bath, indoor shower and gym-in-a-basket (containing essentials such as a mat and weights). With complimentary Wi-Fi, you can share your experience with friends and family back home.
