Things To Do at Gibb's Farm
Slip into farm life and leave your cares behind. On a guided walk through the immaculate orchards and scented herb gardens, a naturalist will point out plants that were first cultivated by Margaret Gibb in the 1950s.
See how many of the more than 200 bird species you can spot. Right on the doorstep of the farm, explore the 20 acres of coffee and learn the coffee-growing process, or indulge in a spa treatment inspired by traditional Maasai healing, sure to leave you feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
Take a longer walk to the nearby Ngorongoro Forest to learn about indigenous medicinal plants. Set out on day trip to the nearby Lake Manyara National Park or climb up to enjoy the spectacular views from the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Cycle through the backroads of Karatu, the surrounding village, exploring ancient elephant caves.
Back at the homestead, learn more about the legacy of the Gibbs. Through employment and education programmes in the community, the farm shares sustainable agricultural practices with the local farmers. Each programme promotes environmental awareness, in the hope of preserving the area’s way of life.
