Mwiba Lodge Experience
Mwiba Lodge Experience
Mwiba’s activities very much focus on viewing the wildlife both within the private reserve as well as in the surrounding Serengeti and Ngorongoro ecosystems. Each group is provided with their own private 4×4 game vehicle and guide to provide maximum privacy and flexibility.
While game drives and walks within the Mwiba Wildlife Reserve are unlimited, activities usually take place first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon. These are the coolest times of the day and are usually when the animals are most active. Between safari excursions, you will return to the lodge to enjoy lunch while taking in the sprawling views of the surrounding plains. After lunch there will be time for a short siesta or maybe a refreshing afternoon dip in the pool.
For those looking to experience the African bush on foot, Mwiba Lodge also offers guided walks within the Mwiba Wildlife Reserve. Why not stretch your legs with a two- to three-hour outing with an experienced, armed walking guide, learning more about the smaller wildlife and the subtle signs often missed from the high seat of your 4×4.
Those visiting during migration season can opt for an all-day game drive, leaving the lodge in the morning with a packed lunch and exploring the neighbouring southern Serengeti or Ngorongoro Conservation Area to look for the migration herds. (Please note that there may be additional charges to enter the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area).
Rooms
Guest accommodation at Mwiba Lodge consists of 10 luxurious tented suites and wooden walkways link each suite to the communal areas and buildings. The style of both the suites and the communal areas is elegant and stylish. Each suite is designed to sleep two adults, but one child (aged 15 or younger) can be accommodated on a sofa bed. For larger families travelling together there are two pairs suites that are interconnecting.
Every suite has double doors which lead out onto a private veranda with spectacular views over the surrounding area. Back inside, there is an additional, separate seating area with a sofa bed, comfy chairs, and a coffee table. Each suite benefits from an air-cooling system in addition to fans, perfect for the warmer months. Other suite amenities include mosquito nets, hairdryer, safe, and minibar.
