Celebrating 5 Years of Developing the Mara Naboisho Conservancy

5 years ago, in March 2010, the first landowners signed the agreement which formed Naboisho Conservancy, one of Kenya’s most successful conservancy stories. We are exceptionally proud of what Naboisho Conservancy has achieved.

Today we have one of the highest density of lion in the Mara eco-system and thriving populations of wildlife, which were just not seen here 5 years ago, such as Buffalo, Eland & Warthog.

There is no other place in Africa, or the world for that matter, that can beat the sheer wildlife numbers, densities and diversity than in Naboisho Conservancy. It’s staggering!” – Gerard Beaton. Communities are also thriving with a monthly income from the land lease, employment within the Conservancy as well as improved medical facilities and schooling that the Conservancy has played a part in.

For the next 5 years, we will continue to build stability in Naboisho but also turn our attention to the Pardamat block which is a vital corridor for the Loita Wildebeest migration as well as suitable Elephant habitat,which is currently not protected.
