Masai Mara is the northmost point of the great wildebeest migration. Over two million wildebeest migrate through Tanzania and Kenya in search of grazing opportunities.
During Elvis visit, the Mara River was dry – making it easy for the movement of the wildebeest.
A large herd of the wildebeest was seen grazing at Nyasirori plains in the Western Serengeti.
The herds will soon move towards the Grumeti Reserve, Grumeti Airstrip and the Sundowner Hill.
A small group of the wildebeest is still roaming the Northern Serengeti. However, a large herd has been seen in the Western Serengeti at the Kirawira area.
Thank you to Herd Tracker for this week’s update!
