Tony has a deeply grained passion for exploring wildlife areas and sharing these with his guests, and is a warm and humour-loving person. He was born on the Highveld of South Africa, where his interest in nature unfolded and which later became an obsession as a microbiology student.
He is a highly experienced guide and photographer, and over the past 25 years has led safaris in all the prominent wildlife areas of Africa, from the forests of Rwanda and the savannah of Tanzania, to the swamps of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. He breathes adventure and enthusiasm, and his professionalism and knowledge are highly regarded. He is multi-skilled with guests and is at home whether leading naturalists in search of new species in Madagascar or hosting celebrities in 5-star lodges. Tony is a natural host and goes out of his way to ensure that his guests have a memorable experience.
Tony works across many areas of Asilia’s safari operations, creating training schemes, mentorship programmes and progression plans for staff in various fields, from waiters and askaris to safari guides. He thrives on sharing his expertise with others and showcasing the very best that East Africa has to offer.
