Itinerary Details
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will proceed to the Coastal Aviation desk for your light-aircraft flight to Tarangire National Park, just 20 minutes away (15 kg luggage limit per person; soft bags required for all flights on this itinerary). Your guide from Oliver’s will meet you here and game-drive you back to camp, where you can settle in and enjoy some lunch. Relax during the heat of the day before afternoon tea is served, and then go out on an afternoon game drive to explore this varied and wildlife-rich park. The large elephant herds in the drier months are a real highlight here, but the wildlife and birdlife are excellent year-round.

Asilia by Air packages are available year-round, subject to availability of accommodation and internal flights. Rather than flying straight home after your safari, fly onward to Zanzibar Island, just off the coast of Tanzania, where you can unwind on a beautiful, white sandy beach for a few days. Swim in the warm Indian Ocean, snorkel on tropical reefs and enjoy sandbank picnics. Perhaps visit Stone Town for a day to marvel at the mix of Swahili and Arabic architecture and to barter for some souvenirs to take home. Whether you spend your time here simply relaxing and taking stock of your safari adventures or enjoying daytrips and water sports is entirely up to you.

Itinerary Details
Fly from the Serengeti to Zanzibar, a journey of approximately 3.5 hours (15 kg luggage limit per person; soft bags required for all flights on this itinerary). The plane may stop on the way a few times to drop off/pick up passengers. On arrival in Zanzibar you will be met and driven by private vehicle to Matemwe Lodge in the north east of the island. Spend the rest of the afternoon unwinding in your thatch-and-stone chalet right on the ocean, snoozing in the hammock or swimming in one of the two pools.
Good to Know
This Zanzibar extension Asilia by Air package is available June to March subject to availability of accommodation and internal flights. INCLUSIONS: Onward flight beyond Kilimanjaro (where the main Asilia by Air Tanzania Classic North itinerary concludes) to Zanzibar, private road transfers from airport to hotel in Zanzibar, half-board basis (breakfast and dinner included) on Zanzibar, and medical evacuation insurance.
