7 days in the Greater Masai Mara
The Greater Mara Area refers to the Masai Mara Reserve as well as the private conservancies adjacent to the reserve and in the surrounding area. By combining the Masai Mara with the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, this itinerary offers superb wildlife viewing across two locations, but with all the added advantages that a conservancy-based safari experience offers.
From July to October, the Masai Mara offers the opportunity to witness the Great Migration as thousands of wildebeest and zebra cross from Tanzania into Kenya. Outside of these months, the resident game viewing in the Masai Mara is phenomenal, making the reserve a year-round destination. While the Mara Naboisho Conservancy does not experience the Great Migration, it plays host to large herds of elephant, prides of lions, leopard, hyena, and plenty of plains game, accompanied by a superior activity offering including night game drives and walking safaris.
