11 days off the beaten track

The Western Wilderness itinerary offers a diverse and exciting safari experience, as it ventures far off the beaten path of Tanzania’s popular “northern circuit”. In the south and west of Tanzania, there are national parks that receive considerably fewer visitors compared to their northern counterparts, whilst offering high quality and rewarding wildlife experiences.

The national parks in the south of the country not only have far fewer visitors than their counterparts in the north, but they are also home to some of the largest populations of wildlife in Tanzania and arguably, some of the most stunning and dramatic scenery found anywhere in Africa.

The flight schedule to these regions accurately depicts their level of isolation and speaks to the extent at which these properties are off the main commercial circuits. This itinerary, in its suggested format, can only start on a Friday to ensure the flights connect as planned. If walking safaris, chimp trekking and swimming in a clear water lake appeals to your sense of adventure, then this is the right itinerary for you.
