Your favorite wildlife photographers – part 1

We recently asked our fans on Facebook to share with us their most favorite wildlife photographers out there – the response was so overwhelming that we decided to split up the next few blog posts to feature these awesome artists in all their glory!Thank you to all of our Facebook fans who joined in and sent us their suggestions.

To start of we are going to share with you some images from the following photographers: Frans Lanting, David Yarrow and Jonathan & Angela Scott.

Frans Lanting

Franshas been hailed as one of the great photographers of our time. His influential work appears in books, magazines, and exhibitions around the world.Born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, he earned a master’s degree in economics then moved to the United States to study environmental planning. Soon after, he began photographing the natural world-and never turned back. For three decades he has documented wildlife from the Amazon to Antarctica to promote understanding about the Earth and its natural history through images that convey a passion for nature and a sense of wonder about our living planet.

David Yarrow

David Yarrow, 49, was born in Scotland and is based in London. He was named Young Scottish Photographer of the Year at the age of 20 and in the same year covered the World Cup for The Times. His internationally syndicated photo of Maradona holding the trophy aloft remains an iconic image of that tournament. David puts his understanding of key environmental and geopolitical issues to practical use in his long-term commitment toTuskas their affiliated photographer.Tusk, whose Royal Patron is HRH the Duke of Cambridge, recently marked its 25th anniversary and receives 10% of sales of David’s prints and books. This has raised over $100,000 so far to support its 53 projects in 18 African countries.

Jonathan & Angela Scott

Jonathan and Angie are the only couple to have won the Overall Award in the Wildlife Photographer Of The Year Competition as individuals. They areCanon Ambassadorsand members of theSanDisk Elite Teama group of world renowned photographers recognized for the quality of their work and inspirational nature of their careers. Their images are represented by some of the worlds top picture agencies including Getty Images and NHPA – and are available on license from the Scott’s own Photographic Library. Their Fine Art Gallery features limited editions of their pen and ink drawings and iconic photographs. They offer Photographic Workshops to a number of destinations in Africa such as Kenya/Tanzania and Botswana/Namibia – and as far afield as Antarctica.
