The range of activities on offer from Oliver’s Camp is unique inside a Tanzanian national park. This unpretentious camp is for travellers who want to feel and hear Africa around them on a walking safari, drink in the cool moist air of a night drive and inhale the fragrant scent of the African bush.
With a reputation for fantastic guiding, Oliver’s game drives take you to the heart of the action every time. Drives are offered twice daily in the cooler mornings and evenings. Most of our game drives make use of an open game-viewing vehicle – this lets you sit at different levels and gives everyone a ‘window’ seat. Our open vehicles have power points where you can recharge your devices, and are fitted with fridges to keep your drinks deliciously frosty. We do have a closed game-viewing vehicle fitted with a cooler box for chilled drinks that may be used if available. Private vehicles are available at an additional cost. (Note that families with children under 12 must book a private game-viewing vehicle.)
As darkness falls, Tanzania’s nightlife comes out to play. Discover the magic of the bush under the stars on an exhilarating night drive from Oliver’s Camp.
The speciality of Oliver’s, the privilege of walking in this spectacular area is exhilarating and memorable. One of our experienced and highly knowledgeable guides and an armed national park ranger allow you to discover the most remote parts of Tarangire.
For those seeking something a little more adventurous and even more private, safari doesn’t get more wild than fly camping at Oliver’s small and intimate fly camp, set up exclusively for you in a spectacular bush location. You are accompanied by an armed guide and spend the afternoon walking to the fly camp, a comfortable yet solo set-up deep in the bush that offers an opportunity sleep under the stars and experience the wild side of Africa.
