This was a lovely place for a stopover between safari stops. We stayed here upon arrival and departure of Tanzania. The drive from Kilimanjaro airport is just over an hour but its only 10 minutes from Arusha airport. The rooms are simple and clean with the best shower! After taking rustic showers throughout our entire safari, this was something to look forward to. The staff was friendly and the chef will accommodate vegan diets. Save a few extra dollars for alcoholic drinks as they are not included. The staff was able to wash a few articles of clothing at the last minute before our long journey home. We were at Katambuga House twice - on our way into Tanzania, just overnight, and on our way out, for an afternoon. The rooms are very nice, the staff waited up for us when our flight was Very late and were extremely kind and accommodating in spite of the late hour. The food was yummy and public areas are pretty. On the return trip we had a fantastic poolside buffet lunch. As we were there for several hours after lunch, it would have been nice if someone had come by offering a drink or snack, but aside from that, the experiences, though short, were all positive. - albertasn0wbird

My husband and I spent two nights here at the beginning of our Honeymoon before heading to the Ngorongoro crater. We loved the Katambuga house! It was a short drive from the airport and we were greeted with friendly staff. Our room was very big with a king sized bed, with a beautiful view of Mount Meru. The food was absolutely delicious, from the lunch by the pool to the three course dinners, we enjoyed every bite. After a day safari in Arusha national park, we relaxed by the beautiful pool. If you find yourself in Arusha, we would definitely recommend The Katambuga House! - jnrdavis1
