Most of your time at Tarangire River Camp will be spent game driving and there are two excellent locations to choose from. You can spend time in the concession area where the camp is located or head into Tarangire National Park which is only 3.5 kilometres away. 

As wildlife is most active in the cooler hours game drives will likely take place in the early mornings and late afternoons. Between drives, you can relax back at camp on your private veranda or if you prefer you can enjoy the views of the Tarangire River from the lodge’s main lounge and dining area. 

All-day game drives with a packed picnic lunch are also an option and for those who choose to return to camp between activities, lunch consists of an appetising main meal with a fresh side salad and dessert while dinner is a three-course affair with tea and coffee. 

Rooms

Accommodation at Tarangire River Camp is made up of 20 tented rooms including five family units and one luxury suite. All rooms have private verandas and en suite bathrooms, and each unit has been built on an elevated wooden platform allowing for wildlife viewing of any game that chooses to move through camp. 

The family tents are built with a little more room for parents travelling with their children. Two of the family tents have been configured to accommodate a family of four with a king bed and two single beds. Another two of the family tents have been configured to accommodate a family of five with a king bed and three single beds. 

The Luxury Safari Tent is built around a big ancient Baobab Tree overlooking the Tarangire River. It has a king-size extra-length bed, and the outside deck boasts an amazing outdoor shower and bath, which enhances the romantic setting of this tent.
