8-day Zanzibar Itinerary
Imagine escaping to the tropical paradise of the Zanzibar archipelago, where the spice islands beckon you with their enchanting aromas and stunning scenery.
Stroll along the white sandy beaches, dip your toes in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, and watch the sunset over the horizon. But there is more to Zanzibar than just its natural beauty. The capital, Stone Town, is a cultural treasure that awaits your exploration. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a labyrinth of narrow streets where you can find colourful markets, intriguing colonial architecture, and a rich history that reflects the diverse influences of African, Persian, Arabic, Indian, and European cultures.
We have created three different itineraries for you, each with a different pricepoint in mind, all designed to showcase the best of Zanzibar. Each option includes two nights in Stone Town, where you can experience the town’s vibrant life, sample the local restaurants’ delicious cuisines, and learn about the island’s fascinating history. You can enjoy dishes such as seafood curry, fish biryani, octopus salad, grilled lobster, or sushi, all infused with the exotic spices of Zanzibar. Stone Town is easily accessible on foot, and you can spend the following day wandering through the winding streets, either independently or with a local guide. Here, you can appreciate the grand architecture and admire the famous carved wooden Zanzibari doors. You can also stroll along the seafront or visit historic sites such as the former slave market or Old Fort. While exploring, you will likely come across some great places to eat, including several rooftop restaurants where you can sample Zanzibari cuisine. Experience its unique blend of influences while looking out over the old city, watching the dhow boats sailing into port, and listening to the enchanting calls to prayer from the nearby mosques.

After a full day of amazing adventures, you will be whisked to Zanzibar’s stunning and world-famous shores. East facing, sunrise over the water is always a spectacular affair as fisherman sail past in their traditional dhows.
You will have the ultimate beach getaway for the next five blissful days. You can lounge by the pool, soak up the sun, stroll along the soft sand, swim in the warm Indian Ocean, or pamper yourself with a sensational and rejuvenating spa treatment. You can also explore the island’s rich culture and history, from the lush Jozani Forest and the mysterious Prison Island to the aromatic spice farms. Try snorkelling with the local marine wildlife and diving into the colourful coral reefs. Set sail into the sunset on a traditional dhow boat and enjoy viewing the coastline from afar before returning to your beachside property for another delicious dinner overlooking the Indian Ocean.
