How to Get to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in the southwestern region of Uganda, approximately 550 km from the capital city of Kampala. The easiest way to reach the park is by flying into Kihihi or Kisoro airports, which have regular connections from Entebbe International Airport, and can be offered free of charge when making use of the All Asilia offer. From there, a scenic drive through the rolling hills and verdant landscapes completes the journey, offering glimpses of traditional Ugandan villages and stunning vistas of the Virunga Mountains.

Alternatively, there’s the option of a road journey, a seven to nine-hour drive from Kampala, best enjoyed with a night or two in Lake Mburo National Park to break the journey. This takes a route that winds through tea plantations, bustling villages, and the rising terrain of the Kigezi Highlands. The drive may be long, but it’s scenic, revealing a side of Uganda that’s otherwise unseen.
