11-Day Small Group Safari: Walking, Boating & Wildlife in Ruaha and Nyerere National Parks
Picture the raw thrill of a lion hunt unfolding before your eyes, an elephant pushing over a tree, or a raft of hippos splashing in the shallows, all in perfect solitude, far from the crowds. This is the Africa few ever see: peaceful, untouched, and alive with wonder.
In the company of a small group of like-minded travellers, you’ll share the magic of walking safaris, night drives, and stargazing at Usangu Expedition Camp in the far south of the Usangu Wetlands, and again at Kokoko Camp, in the heart of Ruaha, where the skies stretch endlessly overhead. At day’s end, gather around the fire for a delicious dinner under the stars, the sounds of the bush echoing in the distance, from the roar of a lion to the hush of the wind.
Explore the vast and untamed beauty of Nyerere National Park, where Roho ya Selous offers front-row access to the park’s rich diversity. Drift silently along the waterways on a boating safari, track wildlife on foot, and discover an extraordinary range of habitats teeming with life.
This is the ultimate East African safari – one of deep connection, rich variety, and unforgettable moments in the wild.

Designed with simplicity and purpose, the camp places exploration at its heart—meals are prepared over an open fire and shared beneath the Ruaha sky. By day, set out on bush walks, game drives, or boating safaris, and errect a camera trap to see what visitors are revealed in the darkness. At night, join your expert guide on a thermal imaging night drive, or spend the evening in the Star Cube, a unique sleep-out under the endless African sky.
