Itinerary Details

Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania

Accommodation: Rivertrees Country Inn

Board Basis: Dinner & Breakfast

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Arusha for an overnight stay. This evening, you’ll be introduced to your dedicated safari host and meet the fellow travellers who will be sharing this incredible journey with you.

Take this time to unwind, settle in, and prepare for the remarkable experiences that await on safari.

Day 2-3: Explore the stunning Tarangire National Park

Accommodation: Oliver’s Camp

Board Basis: Game Package

After a relaxed breakfast, your safari adventure begins with a flight from Arusha to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire National Park. Upon landing, your first game drive unfolds, introducing you to the rich, untamed beauty of the park as you make your way to Oliver’s Camp, your home in the wild.

Nestled among ancient baobabs and sweeping grasslands, this iconic landscape is known for its vast herds of elephant, large congregations of buffalo, and strong populations of lion and leopard. Tarangire’s striking scenery and seasonal swamps create an unforgettable wildlife haven that’s both dramatic and diverse.

Together with your fellow travellers, you’ll explore the park in the company of Asilia’s expert safari guides on both game drives and guided walking safaris, offering a slower, more intimate look at the terrain and its inhabitants.

At Oliver’s Camp, your days are shaped by exploration and connection—with nature, with your guide, and with the like-minded travellers who share this unforgettable journey.

Day 4-6: The call of Ngorongoro

Accommodation: The Highlands

Board Basis: Game Package

After a delicious breakfast accompanied by the morning symphony of the bush, you’ll fly from Kuro Airstrip to Lake Manyara, then travel by road into the dramatic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your destination is The Highlands, a truly distinctive camp set high on the slopes of Olmoti Crater, where sweeping views stretch across ancient highlands and distant volcanic peaks.

Your home here features innovative geodesic domed suites, blending contemporary design with natural beauty. Days at The Highlands are rich with possibility. Venture into the famed Ngorongoro Crater on a thrilling game drive, join a scenic hike to the Olmoti or Empakaai Craters, or immerse yourself in Maasai culture by visiting a local village.

After a day of discovery, retreat to the camp’s spa and sauna, or unwind beside the fire with your fellow travellers over a pre-dinner drink in the cosy bar. This award-winning camp promises not just a place to stay, but a truly memorable chapter in your safari story.

Day 7-9: A Serengeti Big Cats Safari Awaits

Accommodation: Namiri Plains

Board Basis: Game Package

After a sumptuous breakfast, you’ll take to the skies once more, flying into the heart of the Serengeti via Seronera Airstrip. As the vast plains unfold beneath you, the scale and beauty of this iconic landscape comes into view. Your base for the next chapter of the journey is Namiri Plains, an exclusive safari camp tucked away in the remote eastern Serengeti, renowned as one of Africa’s premier destinations for viewing big cats.

Begin your days with the thrill of a sunrise game drive, when predators are most active, or set out on foot for a walking safari, uncovering the smaller secrets of the savannah. For a different perspective, a morning hot-air balloon safari offers the chance to glide silently over this immense wilderness, watching wildlife below as the golden light spills across the land.

In between adventures, retreat to the serenity of camp. Lounge by the pool, unwind with a soothing massage, or simply watch as wildlife gathers at the nearby spring.

As a group, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to engage with our Cheetah Conservation Project, joining the researchers for an insightful evening to learn more about the protection of these iconic cats and the vital role this region plays in their survival.

Namiri Plains invites you to slow down, connect, and fully immerse yourself in the spirit of the Serengeti.

Day 10: Homeward Bound

After a final leisurely breakfast in camp, and heartfelt goodbyes to the team who’ve shared in your journey, you’ll be transferred to the nearby airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport and your onward travels home.

As you leave the wild beauty of Tanzania behind, you’ll carry with you a collection of unforgettable memories, new friendships, and the lasting magic of your time on safari.
