Namiri Plains has officially launched and we are delighted to share the first images with you! We’ve made some special changes to the accommodation but, while retaining the same fantastic safari experience, excellent staff, and exceptional guiding that Namiri Plains is known for.

The Plains of Namiri

The camp is located along the Ngare Nanyuki River, in a remote area of the eastern Serengeti that receives fewer visitors than the popular central region of the park. Because of this, guests at Namiri Plains enjoy an uncrowded safari experience. In fact, you’ll often feel as though you have the vast plains all to yourself…

The plains surrounding the camp are famous for their thriving lion and cheetah populations. The area’s short grasses make excellent hunting grounds, offering the big cats a combination of good cover and a clear line of sight of their prey, unobstructed by trees and shrubs.

Your In-Camp Experience

The updated design maximises views of the seasonal riverbed that runs in front of the camp. Large viewing decks offer plenty of vantage points from which to enjoy sightings of the wildlife that is drawn to the area throughout the year.

In the evenings, you can relax beside the campfire, which is framed by two beautiful acacia trees. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the plains.

Your Room

The new rooms at Namiri Plains have had a significant upgrade, and now feature expansive sliding doors that open out onto a large, private viewing deck, complete with outdoor bathtub. Alternatively, you can enjoy views of the riverbed from your indoor shower.

Incredible views from your bedroom.Other new features include a library, where guests can relax with a good book, and a fascinating information centre with artefact displays, in-depth information about the area, and engaging maps highlighting points of interest.

There are few things more enjoyable than a refreshing dip after a day out exploring the plains, and Namiri Plains’ new pool doesn’t disappoint. A shady pergola on the deck offers relief from the sun and unobstructed views of wildlife visiting the riverbed. Meanwhile, the mobile bar ensured that poolside refreshments are always close at hand.
