ACCOMMODATION & AMENITIES
Our luxurious Jabali Ridge offers eight expansive and romantic suites surrounded by ancient giant granite boulders. The setting provides stunning views across a sprawling baobab forest and the grasslands beyond. Each suite features king-sized beds with breathtaking vistas from your living area, en suite bathroom, and private veranda with a sunken lounge outdoor seating area. Between safari adventures, soak up the view from your hammock, relax in the infinity pool, or rejuvenate tired muscles in the Asilia spa.
Asilia’s Jabali Ridge is perched on a rocky kopje, boasting breathtaking views of Tanzania’s Ruaha National Park, known for its dense lion population.
Situated close to the seasonal Mwagusi River, the lodge is strategically positioned in the core game viewing area of the park, where large herds of elephant and buffalo are frequently watched by resident prides of lion. The area is also home to leopard, cheetah, wild dog, a variety of antelope, giraffe, and over 550 species of birds.
Best time to visit Jabali Ridge
Visit Jabali Ridge June to Mid-March
June - September
In June, the lodge reopens as the dry season arrives. The park is still green and lush after the rainy season, but it begins to transform quickly as the dry season takes hold. Tourist numbers are typically lower in June, making the second half of the month an excellent time of the year to travel. The vast wilderness shimmers with heat through the dry season. This is the best time for game viewing, as the vegetation is sparse and the movements of wildlife more predictable as they rely on the few available water sources. Walking safaris in August and September are amongst the best in Africa.
October - January
The dry season peaks in October, creating superb game viewing conditions. Anticipation builds for the rejuvenating rains that arrive in November, gradually transforming the landscape into a green paradise. The migratory birds start arriving from the Northern Hemisphere, and large herds of elephant and buffalo can be seen enjoying the abundant watery environment. January typically experiences the highest yearly rainfall, but the days are hot and game viewing is still good.
February - May
February continues with hot and sunny days, punctuated by the occasional short shower. This season is ideal for capturing breathtaking wildlife photos thanks to the excellent lighting conditions present after the short showers. With fewer visitors, there is a strong sense of exclusivity to be enjoyed. By early March, the gathering of afternoon clouds hint at the arrival of the long rains, usually arriving in the second half of the month. Safari operations close from mid-March to the end of May, as operational logistics become unmanageable through the long rainy season.
