Giraffe Manor Experience

Mornings at Giraffe Manor are filled with birdsong and the curious faces of Rothschild’s giraffes peering in at your balcony or window. Enjoy sharing a continental breakfast with the tallest land animal — pellet treats for the giraffes and pastries for you. Once the meal is over, our giraffe friends disappear back into the indigenous forest surrounding the Manor. Giraffe Manor residents may spend the day exploring the gardens or walk over to the Giraffe Centre to spend some more time with these fascinating creatures to learn more about them. Not far from the Manor lies the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where visitors can watch young, orphaned elephants recovering from past traumas and finding a new life among loving caretakers and other elephants. Visitors can choose to adopt an elephant, ensuring it a safe and happy future and supporting the project. After a day surrounded by magnificent creatures, spend the evening looking out toward the famous Ngong Hills to watch the sun set in a moment of tranquillity and beauty. For those celebrating a romantic occasion, a private dinner for two can be served in the Orchid Room.

Rooms

Each room is a little different from the next. All rooms are named after local celebrities: the resident giraffes and Karen Blixen and Denys Finch Hatton of Out of Africa fame. There are two suites and 10 superior rooms, all equipped with writing desks, fireplaces, tea-and-coffee stations, safes, hairdryers, mosquito nets, comfy dressing gowns and gorgeous handmade Kenyan toiletries.

Opening the doors to your suite or superior room is like stepping back in time. Spacious with a combination of modern and rustic touches, each room is beautifully decorated. French-style armoires, tartan-upholstered armchairs and brass twin basins are straight out of a 1930s fantasy. Some rooms lead out to quaint balconies where giraffes wander up and wait patiently for you to emerge with a treat.
