Itinerary Details
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by an Asilia driver who will transfer you by private vehicle to the domestic airport, Wilson Airport. Fly from here to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, 40 minutes away (15 kg luggage limit per person; soft bags required for all flights on this itinerary). A guide from Ol Pejeta Bush Camp will meet you at the airstrip and game-drive you back to camp, where you can enjoy lunch and relax in the comfort of your tent overlooking the river. In the mid-afternoon, set off for a game drive to explore this wildlife-rich reserve, home to Kenya’s largest population of black rhino as well as the rest of the Big 5 species and plenty of unusual wildlife, too, including eland and Grevy’s zebra.

Rather than flying straight home after your safari, fly onward to Zanzibar Island, just off the coast of Tanzania, where you can unwind on a beautiful, white, sandy beach for a few days. Swim in the warm Indian Ocean, snorkel on tropical reefs and enjoy sandbank picnics. Perhaps visit Stone Town for a day to marvel at the mix of Swahili and Arabic architecture and to barter for some souvenirs to take home. Whether you spend your time here simply relaxing and taking stock of your safari adventures or enjoying daytrips and water sports is entirely up to you.
Itinerary Details
On arrival from the Masai Mara into Wilson Airport in Nairobi you can relax for an hour and a half and enjoy a picnic lunch (provided by Rekero). Fly to Zanzibar, a flight of 1.5 hours (15kg luggage limit per person; soft bags required for all flights on this itinerary). The plane may stop on the way a few times to drop off/pick up passengers. On arrival in Zanzibar, you will complete immigration formalities for Tanzania and, once you have collected your luggage, you will be met and driven by private vehicle to Matemwe Lodge in the north east of the island. Spend the rest of the afternoon unwinding in your thatch-and-stone chalet right on the ocean, snoozing in the hammock or swimming in one of the two pools.

This Zanzibar extension Asilia by Air package is available June to March subject to availability of accommodation and internal flights. INCLUSIONS: Onward flight beyond Nairobi (where the main Asilia by Air Kenya Classic Safari itinerary concludes) to Zanzibar, private road transfers from airport to hotel in Zanzibar, half-board basis (breakfast and dinner included) on Zanzibar, and medical evacuation insurance.
